Dr. Mark Sanders, MD FACS is a board-certified general surgeon who has been treating complex general, endoscopic and vascular surgical diseases since 2005. He performs robot assisted, laparoscopic and a wide range of minimally invasive and open surgical procedures.

Dr. Sanders is passionate about treating patients with all forms of surgical needs, from cancer patients to hernias, since he began his surgical practice.

In addition, Dr. Sanders has been treating complex vein disease, including varicose veins, venous stasis ulcers, and spider veins, since 2008. He has a very busy vein practice and enjoys treating and relieving patient’s every day pain, swelling and other symptoms with minimally invasive, in-office, procedures.

Dr. Sanders is a native of Greensboro, North Carolina. He attended Winston-Salem State University, where he completed his B.S. degree in Molecular Biology. He did medical research at Saint Mary’s hospital, London, England and at the University of Helsinki in Finland for part of his training. He earned his medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC and completed his General Surgery residency at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, University of Virginia Health System, in Roanoke, VA. He relocated to Tennessee from his home state of North Carolina and has been treating patients from the Hendersonville, Springfield, and Clarksville areas.

Dr. Sanders has served on various hospital committees, been Chief of Staff, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors for an HCA-affiliated regional hospital. He is also the current president-elect for Hendersonville Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of multiple medical/surgical societies.

Dr. Sanders prides himself on the compassionate care and treatment of his patients. He believes that every patient is unique but all are equally important.
